If you are indeed having a boy, the testes have descended into their proper place. Your baby's eyes are now open when awake, and closed when sleeping. Most of the lanugo is gone and replaced with a thick coat of vernix (babyzone.com)."
So I am way behind on my blogging. We've gone through just a few things in the past couple of weeks. First off we were in charge of a retreat in the mountains for the worship group we are co-leaders for. It was two weekends ago for 3 days and was really nice, but required a lot of prep. Meanwhile we also moved out of our old house the same weekend, or shall I say the dads moved us while we were at the retreat. That means that week prior was spent prepping a retreat and packing. Last week I spent cleaning the old place and started to unpack the new place. Our garage is still full of boxes and we feel pressured to get everything in and settled because if anyone is counting along we are going to have a baby here sometime within the next 5 weeks. OMG! I told you it would sneak up on us.
Bugaboo is doing well. We went yesterday to have his heart checked. Since Wen is on insulin his heart walls could thicken and tear, but the cardiologist said his heart looks perfect. He is in position to be delivered and Wen's uterus is all baby. Wen is really starting to feel the affects of pregnancy. She is exhausted, her carpel tunnel is getting worse, and the gestational diabetes has just played its toll. She has decided to go out early with the doctor's recommendation. So in 2 more weeks Wendy is off on baby leave. It will be nice to have her home and to have some bonding time together before the baby comes. After all these are the last few weeks we will ever just be the two of us.
Today Bugaboo received his car seat from all his great aunties on my side. They said they made sure to get the most important gift: the one that lets him come home to us forever. They couldn't be more correct. What a neat way of looking at it I thought. I can't wait to see what else we will be getting. This Saturday we have our family baby shower that includes some of our mom's and Wendy's sister's friends. The following weekend we have our friend shower joined with the dads. It is amazing to see how involved and excited people are for us. You are all such a blessing.
